| The Anne
Arundel Youth Football Association was formed in 1968 to unite in the bonds
of fellowship all organizations who are interested in the promotion of
activities related to the Association and football in general; to mutually
benefit the membership by the discussion and advancement of football for the
purpose of developing youth in Anne Arundel County, recreationally,
educationally, and morally. The Association is made up of 23 community
organizations, fielding 120 football teams ranging in ages from 7 to 15 |
|
The object of the Association is to provide the youth of Anne
Arundel County the opportunity to participate in an organized football
program and to foster through it’s activities, the development of character,
good citizenship, patriotism, sportsmanship, and a sense of fair play. It
provides a program for youngsters, who would not otherwise have the
opportunity to learn, develop, improve, and master the basic skills and
fundamentals of football. |

Youth football has become more popular in Anne Arundel County year
after year. Parents have come to realize that players of all ages and
weights do not get injured easily. This is because of the safety equipment
we require each player to wear and the training each coach receives in basic
skills and fundamentals of football, sports medicine and child psychology.
